What is the Mouse Tales Travel Girls Holiday Getaway Weekend? A time to get away with just the girls! No kids to shuttle to lessons, no dinner to make, no spreadsheets to finish for the boss before 5pm! Just some free time to have fun, ride rides and enjoy some of the best theme parks in the world.  Each day we’ll start at one of Universal Orlando’s three theme parks, which you can explore with your old friends, new friends from our group, or even by yourself (and you can go from park to park on the Hogwarts Express!) There will be an optional meet-up each day, but otherwise you’re pretty free to relax and enjoy your time.

When is it happening? The official group event at Universal Orlando Resort will happen Friday, December 7th through Monday, December 10th. If you can join us just one day earlier, we are hosting a BONUS DAY on December 6th! We’ll head over that night to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Oh, hey, tell me more about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party add-on! It’s a great way to visit Walt Disney World for a short amount of time! We’ll arrive around 5pm in the evening, and the Christmas Party concludes at Midnight, when we’ll head back to Universal Orlando. While there, we’ll get to see the special Once Upon a Christmastime holiday parade the Holiday Wishes fireworks spectacular, A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas party, special character meet-and-greets and lots more. But my favorite part is the SHORT wait times on some of the best rides at the Magic Kingdom! Oh, and there’s cookies and hot chocolate included (with healthy and allergy-friendly options as well)!

Who all can attend? Any ladies ages 18 and up. This means call up all your friends and your mom and your aunts and invite them to come along!

Why are we doing this at Universal Orlando? We believe that Universal Orlando Resort is a great vacation destination for a great value. Because of the more compact size, it’s easy and quick to get around, and the package deals are great! But also, we really love the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and we think you will too (whether you are a hardcore Harry Potter fan or not). From the service from the Team Members, to the food, prices and rooms, we are consistently impressed with Universal Orlando. As a special bonus, we’ll be there during the Holiday season! Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort includes Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s and Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, featuring brilliant decorations, special shows by The Frog Choir and Celestine Warbeck and the Banshees, culminating in the stunning Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts castle spectacular. Even the hotels are decorated for the holidays! It’s gonna be fabulous!

Where are we staying? The main resort many of us are staying at will be Cabana Bay Beach Resort, one of our favorite resorts at Universal Orlando. This Prime Value resort features a super fun retro theme that is straight from the iconic beach resorts of the 1950s and 60s. The resort features two huge pools, a lazy river, a 10-lane bowling alley, food court, Starbucks, and lots more. Oh, and it has its own private entrance to Universal’s newest theme park, Volcano Bay! Standard rooms feature 2 comfy queen beds, while Family Suites are available which sleep 6 with 2 queen beds, a fold out sofa and kitchenette.

Want upgraded rooms, stunning dining options and easy boat launch access to the parks? Upgrade to Sapphire Falls Resort, offering a lovely Caribbean beach theme for a small upcharge. If you are looking for something a little tropical with some MORE extra perks, you can upgrade to Royal Pacific Resort, a South Pacific-themed Preferred Resort, which includes Universal Express Pass (skip the line!) and is within walking distance of the main theme parks. Club Level Rooms and Suites also available. Both resorts include Early Park Admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Volcano Bay.

This sounds fabulous! How much is this gonna cost? Prices start at $495/person for 3 Nights at Cabana Bay Beach Resort and 3 Day Park-to-Park tickets, and do not include your flights, food or extras. The additional bonus day Christmas Party ticket plus private transportation will add $129 plus your additional resort night’s stay. Please see more on our pricing page and complete our form for custom pricing. Prices are subject to change according to remaining availability.

Do I have to pay for it all in advance? Nope! Deposits required at booking are $200/room ($50 each for a quad, $100 for double). The remaining balance is due or before October 20th.

Ok, awesome! But how much should I budget for the other stuff? We recommend budgeting at least $300-$400 for food and beverage and extras during the weekend, but you will probably want to bring a little more for some special treats for yourself, and souveneirs to take home! Airport transfers can be booked through us for $36/person, or you can chip in for an Uber with your friends. For those driving, resort parking starts at $14/night.

I like it, but still need to think about it. How much time do I have to sign up? All bookings will be finalized by October 20th. However, because Universal Orlando operates “dynamic pricing”, the earlier you book, the better your price! Prices and availability are subject to change at anytime, so while you can still book with our group until October 20th, you may have limited room options available by then.

What if I book and have to cancel? All package bookings are fully refundable up to October 20th, after which your party will be charged the $200 deposit. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets are non-refundable.

Do I have to stay with the group the whole time? Definitely not - this is YOUR getaway! If you want to spend half the day in your bed enjoying the quiet resort room, we won’t stop you! But we would love it if you would join us for the scheduled meet-ups for some fun. Please see the itinerary for more about the meet-ups.

Can I bring my kids or husband? Feel free to bring your daughters who are 18 and over, but otherwise, no, sorry! That said, we think this is also a great way to check out Universal Orlando to see if it’s a good vacation fit for your family, without having to PAY for the whole family to get there. Then, when you do visit with the partner and kids, then you already know your way around, and which rides and attractions they will love the most.

I have a few more questions - who can I talk to about it? Feel free to contact our "Getaway Guru" Michaela Flack at Michaela.Flack@MouseTalesTravel.com with any questions.

Hope to see you soon!
